Glossary
The words Restro uses, and exactly what each one means.
#Branch
A physical location. Owns its own hours, prices, stock, and delivery zones.
#Cash session
An open cash drawer. Opened with a starting float, closed with a count. The difference between counted and expected cash is the variance. See Cash management.
#Channel
Where an order originated: website, mobile app, or point of sale.
#Customer
A diner who orders from you. Distinct from a user.
#Customization
An option group on a menu item — size, spice level, extras. Options can add to the price, and prices can differ per branch.
#Draft order
An order started but not yet placed, usually a tab being built at a table.
#Entitlement
Something your plan lets you do. Hitting an entitlement limit returns a clear "upgrade to continue" message rather than a generic error.
#Extension
An optional add-on you switch on per restaurant: Reviews, Accounts, Localize, Cookie Consent, and tracking pixels.
#Ingredient
A raw material. Ingredients are restaurant-wide; the stock of an ingredient is per branch, tracked as an inventory item.
#Par level
The stock level you want to hold. Sits above the reorder level and tells you how much to buy, not just when.
#Recipe
The link between a menu item and the ingredients one unit of it consumes. Recipes are what let selling a dish move your stock automatically.
#Reorder level
The stock level at which an item is flagged as low.
#Sales channel
See channel.
#Store credit
A balance held against a customer, spendable at checkout. Granted manually or by refunding to credit.
#Table session
An open tab at a table. Groups several orders from several guests so the table can be settled once.
#Theme
The visual design of your customer-facing surfaces. The website ships with taste, gazette, and nocturne; the mobile app uses arc.
#User
Someone who works at your restaurant and signs in to the dashboard or apps. Distinct from a customer.
#Void
Cancelling an unpaid order. Paid orders must be refunded instead.
